What you can use, without asking

Everything on this page can be used to talk about Kapix: a review, an article, a video, a list of apps. You do not need our permission. All we ask is that you follow the rules below — there are four and they are short.

If you need something that is not here — a particular screenshot, the logo in another format, a quote — ask at hola@kapix.app and we will send it.

The mark: the K

The mark is a pixel-art K. It is what goes on the app icon, on the store listing, and anywhere Kapix needs to be recognised at a glance.

The icon ships without rounded corners: the operating system or the store adds those. And it ships opaque, with no transparency, because the App Store rejects an alpha channel on the icon.

Bit is round, expressive, and lives inside the product: in onboarding, in achievements, when a screen is empty. There are six moods and all of them share the same framing, so switching from one to another does not shift him.

The colours

  • Gold, #e2b714 — the accent. Buttons, links, the detail that draws the eye.
  • Ink, #0a0a0a — the dark background, which is the brand’s default ground.
  • Paper, #f2f0ea — text on Ink, and the background of the light sections.

The typefaces

  • Pixelify Sans — for the name and large headings only. Never below 22 px, and never in a paragraph: at reading size it stops being legible.
  • Outfit — interface and body text. It is what you are reading now.
  • Geist Mono — labels, figures, and anything that has to line up in a column.

All three are open source and we serve them from our own domain, not from a CDN.

The four rules

  1. Bit always has two eyes. Never one. This is the rule we care about most: a round cyclops already belongs to another brand and we would rather not be mistaken for it.
  2. Do not redraw Bit. Use the files on this page. They are generated from a single geometry; a hand-drawn version shows, and stops matching the others.
  3. The icon is the K, never Bit. Bit lives inside the app; the K is what identifies it outside.
  4. Do not change the colours or stretch the logo. If you need a variant that is not here, write to us and we will make it.

How to refer to Kapix

Kapix is written with a capital K and the rest lowercase, always. Not KAPIX, not Kápix.

We are an independent apps and games studio. If you need a sentence, this one works: “Kapix makes small, carefully built apps that say plainly what they collect and how they pay for themselves.”
